Couple Testifies Defendant's Road Rage Caused Accident

CORPUS CHRISTI - Testimony is underway in the case of a man accused of causing an accident which resulted in the loss of a woman's arm last March. Prosecutors say the accident was a case of road rage in which the defendant, David Schubert, hit another vehicle on N. Padre Island Drive and Bear Lane.
Today the state called the driver of the other truck, Jose Bayarena, and his wife, Merri Zapata, to the stand. The couple says Schubert cut them off while entering the freeway and while doing so, some debris flew from his truck and shattered their windshield.
