FORT WORTH — A motorist has been sentenced to 13½ years in prison for driving through a red light while he was drunk and killing a Euless driver in 2011.

Miguel Moreno, 36, was sentenced to 162 months on Jan. 13 in Criminal District Court No. 371.

As part of his plea agreement, a 2009 burglary charge out of Haltom City was dismissed against Moreno, Tarrant County criminal court documents state.

Border Patrol agents also have a hold on Moreno once he's released from prison, Tarrant County Sheriff Department jail records show.

Moreno was arrested shortly after the wreck on Jan. 1, 2011, at Hurst Boulevard and Precinct Line Road in Hurst. Brook Johnson, 23, died in February 2011 from injuries he suffered in the wreck.
