Handcuffs, a judge’s warrant and a nurse’s needle await drunken drivers who think they can refuse to participate in a test this weekend to determine their level of intoxication.
This year’s no-refusal weekend is countywide. It begins tonight and lasts through Sunday morning, according to a statement from Galveston County Criminal District Attorney Jack Roady.
“It’s goal is to increase public safety, especially during holiday weekends when the risk runs high,” Roady said.
In Texas, anyone with a blood-alcohol content of .08 percent or greater is considered legally impaired, Roady said.
