FORT WORTH -- A Fort Worth man accused of luring a 17-year-old Houston girl into prostitution through the Internet has been sentenced to eight years in prison on two separate cases.
Nyokolus Hunter, 27, pleaded guilty to compelling prostitution in that case and to another charge in a sex-trafficking case involving a Fort Worth woman who initially had been accused of helping him hold the Houston girl against her will.
That woman, 20, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of prostitution and was sentenced in August to 24 months of deferred adjudication, said prosecutor Kim D'Avignon with the Tarrant County district attorney's office. She is now going through a program to help her improve her life.
"She was another victim," D'Avignon said of the woman, who is not being identified by the Star-Telegram. "But she also needed some tools to get out of this life."
