More than three years after a 28-year-old Bryan gang member tried to shoot another man during a gang-related incident, a Brazos County jury on Tuesday sentenced him to 60 years in prison and levied a $10,000  fine.

That was twice the prison time sought by prosecutors, who had asked jurors to give "Marco" Cabrera Antonio Agundiz a minimum of 30 years. Agundiz's lawyer had asked for a probated sentence.

Agundiz was found guilty on Monday of engaging in criminal activity for attempting to shoot 23-year-old Brandon Rosales outside of El Tapatio bar on Nov. 15, 2008, in Bryan.

Rosales' body was discovered three days after the incident in Robertson County, about five miles from where his burned car had been found the same day as the attempted shooting. Rosales was killed by two gunshots to the head, and his body was partially burned.
