Jeffery Mack Grund of Clyde allegedly entered the home of his ex-girlfriend and struck her 2-year-old daughter with a beer bottle, prosecutors said in opening arguments of his trial Tuesday.
Grund, 42, is on trial in 104th District Court on charges of injury to a child and burglary of a habituation. If found guilty, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
Prosecutors said Grund went to the home of a woman he used to date on July, 18, 2008, and argued with her.
The woman testified that Grund illegally entered her north Abilene home, began arguing and poured beer on her head. She was holding her daughter, she said, and the beer also spilled on the girl.
