CORPUS CHRISTI — Jury deliberations started Thursday afternoon for a man accused in a shooting death at a homeless shelter.
Matthew Stebbins is accused of shooting and killing David Cisneros, 60, after an argument at Mission 911 in December 2010, according to police. Police said Cisneros was shot several times in the chest.

Immediately after the shooting, authorities arrested Stebbins, 35, who was a Mission 911 resident, police said.

In a taped police interview played Thursday morning, Stebbins said he purchased a gun because he was previously beaten up at the shelter. He said the night of the shooting he saw Cisneros running toward him and shot Cisneros to defend himself.
