Rivers took the stand briefly Tuesday to confirm that he would not testify in his own defense during the punishment phase of his trial.
Jurors took about two and a half hours to return a guilty verdict on all charges brought against 30-year-old Wichitan Danny Richard Rivers Jr., ending the first half of a weeklong trial in 30th District Court.
Rivers was convicted Tuesday afternoon of six counts of child sex crimes by the 11-person jury.
Judge Bob Brotherton remanded Rivers to the custody of the Wichita County Sheriff's Office shortly after the verdict was read.
Jurors were recessed until 9 a.m. today to begin deliberations on Rivers' punishment.
