A Longview woman received two 20-year sentences in the 71st State District Courtroom on drug-related charges.
The defendant, 49-year-old Telesa Adkins Caster, pleaded guilty before 71st District Judge William Hughey to possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine — in an amount of four grams or more but less than 200 grams. She also pleaded guilty to manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.
The two 20-year sentences were the maximum she could receive for the second degree felonies. The sentences will run concurrent and concurrent with pending charges in Gregg County.
According to a probable cause for arrest report, Caster was arrested last July for the possession of a controlled substance charge after being stopped by a state trooper on U.S. Highway 80 for an expired inspection sticker.
