Midland man found guilty of murder in stabbing of brother-in-law

Aaron Lee Evans has been convicted or murder in the February stabbing death of brother-in-law Jeffrey Edwards.
Evans was found guilty Thursday afternoon after a week of testimony, which included an appearance by his mother Vickie Evans as well as the defendant testifying on his own behalf.
Evans’ attorneys argued the 36-year-old Midlander was acting in self-defense Feb. 12 when he fatally stabbed Edwards after the victim intervened in an apparent fight between Evans and his mother.
