Prosecutor: Parker County woman was gagged, sometimes kept in box

WEATHERFORD -- At times, Jeff Maxwell kept the 62-year-old woman in a wooden, coffinlike box or handcuffed to a bed with a chain, a Parker County prosecutor said Tuesday.
Maxwell gagged her so she couldn't yell for help, "and for days he sexually abuses her with devices," prosecutor Kathleen Catania said.
Maxwell, 59, of Corsicana, is on trial in 43rd District Court on two counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of kidnapping.
He is accused of abducting a Parker County acquaintance in March, taking her about 100 miles away to his home in Corsicana, and returning to her house and setting it on fire.
