Testimony begins in Toronto Lockridge murder trial in Gregg County

LONGVIEW (KYTX) -- The murder trial of Toronto Lockridge is underway in Gregg County. Lockridge is accused of shooting and killing a Longview man, and burning his house down with a woman and two children inside. CBS 19 had the only camera in the courtroom for today's opening statements. CBS 19's Abby Broyles was there and joins us from our Longview newsroom with more.
35-year old Toronto Lockridge is on trial for first degree murder, accused of killing Kelvin Muckleroy in September 2009. Investigators found Muckleroy's body in the charred remains of his south Longview home. Prosecutors say Lockridge pulled the trigger and set the house on fire.
"You will hear the voice of a woman who was just in a home of a man who was shot and murdered and the home was burned down," Gregg County Assistant District Attorney Chris Botto told the jury Tuesday.
