The vehicular homicide case against an Amarillo man involved in a fatal 2009 collision began in Canyon on Monday with prosecutors calling police officers who arrived at the crash.
Cameron Michael Meyers, 21, faces a two-count indictment for intoxication manslaughter and reckless manslaughter in the July 19, 2009, crash that killed Pedro Serrano, a 29-year-old Odessa man.
Meyers pleaded innocent to both counts Monday in the 251st District Court.
Prosecutors said on Monday that Meyers was on prescription drugs that impaired his driving ability when his 2001 Nissan Xterra drifted into northbound oncoming traffic and collided with two others in the 4100 block of Coulter Street, police said.
