Ybarra gets 2 years for drunken driving death

SAN ANTONIO - The woman convicted in the intoxication manslaughter of Erica Smith was sentenced to two years in jail and 10 years probation late Wednesday afternoon.
Prosecutors had asked jurors to dole out the maximum punishment of 20 years for Jenny Ybarra, but they went with the minimum. A jury of 10 men and two women took just four hours to convict Ybarra on Monday.
Because Ybarra was found guilty of using her car as a deadly weapon, she must serve at least half her term before becoming eligible for parole.
