2008 and Beyond -- No Binders, but Downloads and CD-ROMs!!

It may have taken a while, but TDCAA has entered the 21st century and we're not looking back!

Due to the high costs of publishing binders and their negative environmental impact, beginning with next month's 2008 January Prosecutor Trial Skills Course, TDCAA will no longer provide binders to seminar attendees.

Rather, upon a person's successful registration, she will receive an email confirming her registration and providing her with an internet address where the papers for the seminar will be available for download. The email also will inform the attendee of the password necessary to access the papers. The papers will be available from one week before the seminar begins until the conclusion of the seminar. The papers will all be locked as "read-only," so changes cannot be made to the original text.

Also, upon arrival at the seminar, each registrant will get a folder containing the course agenda, an attendee list, speaker and course evaluations, and a few pages of other information, along with a CD-ROM containing all of the written materials. This CD-ROM is what we will ship to attendees who registered for the course but could not attend for some reason.

There will not be the ability to print out the papers at the trainings, so any attendee wishing to take notes on the written materials will need to download the papers and print them out prior to arrival OR bring a laptop to follow along with the written materials on the CD-ROM.

We understand that not all of our attendees wanted this change, but after over a year of collecting data from y'all regarding this issue, the vast majority wanted either a CD-ROM or downloadable forms, so we made the changes that the majority wanted. Please feel free to contact Erik Nielsen or Ashlee Myers with any questions or concerns you may have about the new format. Thanks for your patience while we get this project up and running smoothly. And we'll see you at the seminars!
