Jury selection to start in trial of woman accused of killing husband

Jury selection was expected to begin today in the trial of a former Little Elm woman accused of setting a fire that killed her disabled husband.

Rhonda Orr, 34, was charged with first-degree felony arson for the May 14, 2003, fire at the home she shared with James Orr, who was 32 at the time of his death.

The trial in Denton County before state District Judge Bruce McFarling was originally set to begin Oct. 4, 2004 and has been postponed at least nine times. Several factors have led to the delays, said Jamie Beck, Denton County first assistant district attorney.
