Pampa man receives hefty prison sentence, fine

A Gray County man was sentenced Tuesday to 99 years in prison and a fine of $50,000 after being found guilty of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance in the amount of more than 200 grams but less than 400 grams.

Neil Scott Mason, 35, was reportedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and the components of a clandestine meth lab on Jan. 25. He was indicted for the offense on April 17.

“We were extremely proud of our Gray County deputies,” said Evelyn Rutherford, a paralegal in the office of 31st District Attorney Lynn Switzer. “They did a fabulous job on this case. Their professionalism and attention to detail is what helped us prosecute this case.”
