Murder defendant's girlfriend says she saw blood, knife

Richard Jett's former girlfriend testified Monday that one day after she had heard him sounding like a “crazy madman,” she had gone to the East Side home of Homer Lee Daniels, saw blood on the porch and then disposed of a knife she found there – yet never called police.

Alona “Little Mama” Woods, 48, who has a substantial criminal history of her own, acknowledged inconsistencies between her testimony and her initial interview with detectives, including a conflicting account of how she got to the home of Daniels, 80, who was found stabbed to death in June 2006.

Jett, 50, is charged with Daniels' death in a trial that has seen many twists and turns, as he tried to defend himself but was ruled not competent to do so by a visibly conflicted 379th District Judge Bert Richardson.
