A 27-year-old New Orleans native with two previous felony convictions was convicted Monday of murdering a teenager, and was sentenced to life in prison.

Michael Jackson was convicted of shooting 15 year-old Fredrick Robertson as the teen was walking to a corner store in Houston’s Briargate subdivision April 2, 2008.

The store is located in the section of Houston that lies in Fort Bend County, and Jackson was living in Briargate at the time of the murder.
