SEGUIN — It was a love story right out of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.”

Or it was a predator taking sexual advantage of a naive 13-year-old girl.

A Guadalupe County jury of seven women and five men deliberated for several hours Wednesday, and decided the latter — sending a 31-year-old Mexican man to prison for 36 years.

And Romualdo Paz, a self-admitted child rapist, will not be eligible for parole until he serves at least 18 years in the institutional division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
