Vidor man given 10 years for acts with child

Randall Joshua Scott Boyd, 20, of Vidor was found guilty Wednesday of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Boyd was sentenced to five years on each count. Judge Don Burgess elected to “stack” the sentences for a total of 10 years in the Department of Criminal Justice. The punishment range on the first degree felony is 5 to 99 years or life in prison.
It took a jury less than an hour to determine the sentence. As the verdict was read, supporters of Boyd sobbed.
