Jury hears more testimony in fatal brawl trial

Witnesses in a 24-year-old Midlander's murder trial Thursday gave varying accounts of a whirlwind of violence that ended with the stabbing death of Victor Vidal in the early morning of July 18, 2008.
Seven security officers stood watch as Vidal's brother Isaac Sifuentes was led into Judge George Gilles' court in shackles after the defendant, Henry Ahola Jr., was moved to the opposite side of the 142nd District courtroom.
Sifuentes, incarcerated for allegedly threatening a woman involved in the feud, told Assistant District Attorneys Carolyn Thurmond and Rob Hayden that "things started to escalate" in front of the 805 N. Fort Worth St. home of his girlfriend Veronica Ahola, the defendant's sister.
