Jury picked for murder trial today

Jury selection is set to begin today in the trial of a man accused of a 2006 murder.
Jesse Juan Herrera, 56, is charged with stabbing to death his ex-girlfriend and faces up to life in prison if convicted in the 364th District Court.
On Dec. 8, the Lubbock Police Department SWAT team arrested Herrera on suspicion of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend, 41-year-old Refugio Avalos Montez, the previous day.
Montez suffered stab wounds to the face and back following an argument in 600 block of North Flint Avenue.
