EL PASO -- A district court judge ruled Wednesday that a man found guilty of raping a young female relative during a two-year period should serve more than 200 years in prison for his crimes.

A jury found Romulo Fuentes, 43, guilty earlier this week of three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child. The same jury sentenced Fuentes to 60 years on each of the first three counts, and 20 years on the last two counts.

They also ordered Fuentes to pay $50,000 in fines.

On Wednesday, prosecutors filed a motion in the 409th District Court asking Judge Sam Medrano Jr. to give Fuentes consecutive sentences totaling 220 years in prison.
