A 23-year-old Killeen man was found guilty Wednesday of killing a Killeen woman while robbing an illegal game room in April 2008.

Oliver Julius Sowell received an automatic sentence of life without parole after being convicted of capital murder in the death of Kimberly Tran, 41.

The jury of eight women and four men deliberated for one hour and 40 minutes.

Sowell was accused of shooting Tran in the chest with a shotgun while in the course of robbing her gaming establishment on North Second Street at about 10:30 p.m. April 2, 2008. Tran died in a hospital about two hours later.
