Man charged with capital murder tells of his ex-girlfriend’s final night

It was two days before Christmas when Jason Bou chard went to Walmart, like countless other shoppers, looking for the perfect item.
But rather than the ideal gift, Bouchard says, he was searching for the best tool for killing the mother of his children.
He sifted through the hatchets, machetes and knives before making his choice. A crowbar would be quicker, cleaner, the 36-year-old former Army paratrooper reasoned.
And, it might come in handy if he needed to pry open a door or window to help his three young children escape the fire he planned to set at the 1,200-square-foot home they shared with their mother.
In letters and an interview with the Houston Chronicle, Bouchard, charged with capital murder, detailed the events leading to the killing of Terri Sanvicente, which he says was justified.
