Man gets 41 years for role in torture, slaying
TEXAS CITY — After admitting, only to an
extent, his role in a torture slaying at a Texas City hotel, a man who
pleaded guilty to murder learned his punishment Thursday.
Brian
O’Neal Richardson, 28, was sentenced to 41 years in prison by Judge
John Ellisor, just one year longer than Ellisor gave Richardson’s
co-defendant, William Henry Perry in October.
Richardson and
Perry, 50, were convicted in the May 12, 2008, slaying of Gary Wayne
Bell, who was beaten, hogtied and asphyxiated in a hotel room and
dumped in Galveston Bay.
