(TRAVIS COUNTY)- Multiple romantic relationships with prison guards were uncovered during the sentencing phase of convicted murderer Milton Gobert.
Testimony in court Thursday revealed Gobert received special privileges, even a cell phone, from two female corrections officers on different occasions.
Tasha Lass is no longer on duty at the Travis County Jail. She's been put on administrative duty, after testimony revealed she provided a cell phone to Gobert. She testified that she gave him the phone so she could talk with him without the jail recording their conversations.
A jury found Milton Gobert Guilty of the capital murder of Mel Cotton. Prosecutors argued that Gobert stabbed Cotton in 2003 because she helped Gobert’s girlfriend leave him. The jury will decide whether or not Gobert receives the death penalty.
