Convicted woman testifies in support of other defendant

A woman already convicted in the 2007 murder of Michael Myrick testified Wednesday in defense of another defendant, Jason Anderson.
Thelma Maldonado, who is serving a life term in Myrick’s death, testified that she did not see Anderson hit anybody.
Defense attorney Daniel Barnes attempted to show that his client did not participate in the beating or the stabbing death of Myrick.
Assistant District Attorney Joel Wilks challenged Maldonado’s testimony, saying she told at least four different accounts of the events leading up to Myrick’s murder in the early morning hours of Nov. 11, 2007. He speculated that Maldonado may be trying to protect Anderson and the three remaining suspects, including her son Albert Lomas, because they have not been tried.
