Rosenberg man gets four years for wreck that paralyzed woman

A Rosenberg man who caused the
paralysis of a Needville woman after a 2007 car wreck received four
years in prison from a jury in the 240th District Court late Friday
afternoon.
Jerry W. Reyes, 32, injured Christine Watson, 46,
in a wreck on U.S. 59 after attending a Christmas party at Sweetwater
Country Club in December 2007. The wreck happened about 2 a.m., and
Reyes was legally intoxicated.
Reyes pleaded guilty to
intoxication assault with vehicle, a third degree felony with a penalty
range of two to 10 years and a maximum of up to $10,000 fine.
He also pleaded true to the car being a deadly weapon, said prosecutor
Amanda Bolin.
