Man pleads guilty to stabbing infant, striking wife

Sentence is 18 years in prison

CORPUS CHRISTI — A 34-year-old man accused of stabbing his infant son pleaded guilty Monday to three outstanding felony charges, including attempted capital murder.

Tone Johnson III was accused of stabbing the boy on July 5 at a family barbecue in the 700 block of Brandon Drive. The child was hospitalized with a stab wound to the chest and chin and had nicks and marks on his neck.

Johnson was sentenced to 18 years in prison. A 10-year sentence for a charge of family violence assault will run concurrently. Johnson admitted to striking his wife with a table leg in March 2009.
