Harlingen jewelry store robber gets 70 years prison

It’s been almost a year since Juanita Davis was attacked at her Harlingen jewelry store.

She was beaten, kicked, stepped on and left alone, bleeding on the ground, until her postman discovered her.

Her attacker, Miguel Angel Alvarado, got a plea deal Tuesday for 70 years in prison.

Still, Davis said she’s disappointed.

“He doesn’t need to be alive, because he wanted to kill me,” said Davis.
