Man involved in violent altercations sentenced

A man involved in two violent altercations over two different women, one of which left him paralyzed from the waist down, was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in prison.

Randall County Criminal District Attorney James Farren said a jury found Ricky Castillo-Jalomo, 28, guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Farren said Castillo-Jalomo and four or five other people beat the victim on a street with a pool cue in March 2007.

Farren said testimony indicated the victim had dated Castillo-Jalomo's girlfriend and he was jealous of the relationship.

"He felt like there were still feelings," Farren said.
