Fourteen Montgomery County men and women will begin their deliberations this morning in the first-degree felony theft case of Geoffrey Tyler Wood, the former vice president of American Classic Cars in Conroe.
Wood, 28, is charged with two counts of felony aggregate theft and accused of stealing more than $800,000 in vehicles and money from customers of the business. Law enforcement – including the Conroe Police Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Auto Theft Task Force – raided American Classic Cars in August 2008 after receiving multiple complaints.
The trial is set in the 359th state District Court, with visiting Judge P.K. Reiter presiding.
American Classic Cars was located at 800 W. Davis, just west of downtown Conroe.
If he is convicted, Wood faces up to 99 years or life in prison for each of the two charges. His father, Stephen Craig Wood, was convicted in April of the same offenses and sentenced to 42 years in prison.
