Brothers bound for prison after guilty pleas

Two brothers are headed to prison after pleading guilty to separate crimes.

The older brother, Adam Jay Gonzales, was sentenced to 60 years in prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He hit a 22-year-old Kerrville man in the head three times with a ball peen hammer during the August 2005 incident.

According to Lucy Wilke, assistance district attorney for the 216th Judicial District, Gonzales will have to serve 30 years before he is eligible for parole.

He won’t be eligible for parole until he is 59 years old.
