A Utah man who sent images of child pornography on a cell phone to a Waco woman last year while discussing their sexual fantasies was sentenced to 32 years in prison Wednesday.

Brandon Terry Welte, a 29-year-old former wholesale grocery warehouse worker who was seeking probation, pleaded guilty Monday to four counts of promotion of child pornography and elected to have a 54th State District Court jury of nine men and three women assess his punishment.

Jurors deliberated about 2 1/2 hours Wednesday before recommending to Judge Matt Johnson that Welte, who faced up to 20 years in prison on each count, be sentenced to eight years and fined $3,000 on each count.
