POSITION TITLE:
2nd Assistant District Attorney
OPENING: January 2023


SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Salary commensurate with experience up to $74,230 Employee Health and Life Insurance
Retirement plan with employer matching
Paid by Employer – State Bar Dues, CLE training and travel

POSSITION SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include all aspects of felony cases from preparation to sentencing. Other responsibilities include asset forfeitures, appeal briefs, mental procedures, open record requests and bond forfeitures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ARE:
Screening of criminal cases from Grand Jury presentation, Trial proceedings and Appeal.

Conducts Legal Research for Appeals, including but not limited to brief preparation, drafting of legal instruments used in prosecution of the case.

Possess strong work ethic and self-motivation.

Attends docket calls, conducts plea bargain negotiations, and trial preparations.

Assists law enforcement with warrants, subpoenas, and elements of crime.

QUALIFICATIONS:

All applicants must be licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

Applicants must demonstrate a strong understanding of the Texas Rules of Professional Responsibility and the ethics required of a Texas Prosecutor.
