JOB TITLE: Appellate Prosecutor
JOB SUMMARY: This position requires a thorough knowledge of Texas Criminal Law, The Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure. This individual should be familiar with concepts such as preservation of error and procedural default. The Appellate Prosecutor is primarily responsible for assisting the Criminal District Attorney with handling legal matters through the appellate process including direct appeals, writs of mandamus, and post-conviction writs of habeas corpus. *Salary will be commensurate with experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and a J.D. (law) degree are required. The individual must have a Texas Law license and be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. The individual should possess a thorough working knowledge of Texas Criminal Law, the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure. Three (3) years of experience is preferred, but not required. Must pass criminal background check and take/pass drug screen. Must have valid TX driver’s license in order to operate County vehicles.
SALARY: Pay Group E14 – Starting at $83,691.73/annually, salary will be commensurate with experience.
