Minimum salary: $6282.91/month
Maximum salary: $7532.75/month
Full-time state employed Assistant Attorney General working under appointment as Special Assistant United States Attorney(SAUSA) for the Southern District in McAllen, TX. Work involves assisting with investigations; preparing and prosecuting jury trials in federal court representing the state’s interest in federal criminal matters involving Medicaid fraud. Performs moderately complex to highly complex attorney work. Direct supervision by U.S. Attorney’s Office healthcare fraud prosecutors while maintaining communication and fulfilling employment responsibilities with Texas Office of the Attorney General (OAG) supervisors. Investigation teams will consist of FBI, HHS-OIG and other appropriate federal agents along with MFCU investigators and auditors who support the position from a separate office in Pharr. Office space is supplied at both the US Attorney and the MFCU locations.
Applicants for this position should be prepared to pass thorough federal and state background investigations. Felony level trial prosecution experience or complex civil healthcare or financial fraud litigation experience is preferred.
