Prosecution of Misdemeanor cases, including Class “C” misdemeanors in Justice of the Peace Courts; Prosecution of Child Protective Service Cases and Adult Protective Service Cases; Prosecution of Protective Orders; Prosecution of Juvenile Cases; Prosecution of Mental Health Commitments; Legal Research and Brief Preparation for any appeals taken from cases the County Attorney’s office handles; preparation of Legal Documents; limited Civil Trial Litigation; Provide legal opinions to County Officials and Department heads. Other duties as assigned by County Attorney.
Graduation from an accredited law school. Member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. Must pass a criminal background check and submit to fingerprinting. Good communication skills and the ability to interact well with others is required. Candidates should have skills in legal writing, legal research and negotiation. The position also requires computer literacy.
