The Office of the Criminal District Attorney of Waller County, Texas is currently accepting applications for the position of an Assistant District Attorney. The job is available immediately.
Candidates must be an attorney licensed to practice in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar. Responsibilities will primarily be prosecution of criminal offenses in the County Court at Law and District Court of Waller County, Texas and other duties as assigned by the elected official and 1st Asst. One of these positions is a traditional prosecutor’s position, and the other is a criminal/civil hybrid position with particular emphasis on environmental crimes prosecuted in the J.P. Courts.
Our office is a close-knit office of 11 attorneys, 6 legal assistants and 3 investigators all of whom take great pride in what we do, you should too. The ability to converse and work well with others is important. Waller County is an exciting place to work. We have just completed construction on a new jail, sheriff’s office and state of the art courtroom facility that will be a wonderful place to practice criminal prosecution and attempt to seek justice for the citizenry of this county. We are large enough to keep a prosecutor busy, yet small enough that everyone will know your name and value your contributions to the community.
Highly qualified applicants with prior experience as a prosecutor should apply with their salary requirements listed in their cover letter. Such applicants may be offered additional funds depending on experience. The base salary starts at $65,000.00 per year with other benefits as a county employee.
