The Comal County Criminal District Attorney’s Office in New Braunfels, Texas, is currently hiring both Experienced and Entry Level Attorneys for the following positions:
Felony Prosecutor(s): $90,000 to $115,000 * Misdemeanor Prosecutor(s): $80,000 – $97,000 *
*Salaries will vary by level of experience
Prosecutors will assist in management of daily dockets by processing pleas and plea negotiations, handling routine pretrial court appearances, managing court calendars, preparing for and conducting writ hearings, and filing and responding to oral and written court motions. Prepares for and conducts trial procedures by presenting and defending motions to suppress and responding to discovery requests, conducting various pretrial hearings, interviewing witnesses, organizing case files for trial, preparing trial exhibits, reviewing evidence and conducting voir dire examinations. Tries cases to verdict in jury trials and trials before the Court. Performs all ancillary tasks. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Chief of the respective Misdemeanor or Felony Division.
These positions are for prosecutors who enjoy or are interested in litigating cases, so experience in the courtroom is preferred, but is guaranteed with this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas and have a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited Law School. Applicants must have a professional attitude, be an effective communicator, a multi-tasker and a self-starter. Must pass criminal background check and take/pass drug screen. Must have valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable by Comal County insurance provider.
