The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office has an opening for a felony-level prosecutor effective October 2, 2021.  Applicants should be Texas licensed attorneys in good standing with at least 3 years of job-related experience, and should possess a thorough working knowledge of criminal prosecution and court procedure.  The ideal candidate for this position has experience with alternative sentencing programs, especially felony narcotics programs.

The prosecutor works within the felony trial division to specifically identify and manage defendants approved for the Expedited Narcotics Docket/Reintegration Court and Felony Drug Court programs.  The position is responsible for a significant amount of narcotic case intake, related grand jury presentations, and screening and approval of END and Drug Court candidates.  Trial work is encouraged as the caseload allows.   

Fort Bend County is one of the most diverse counties in the nation and is only thirty minutes from downtown Houston.  The annual salary for this position starts at $86,338.80.  Bar dues and CLE are paid for by the office.  Relevant Texas Board of Legal Specialization certifications allow for additional compensation of $5,000 annually.
