Attorney – Juvenile Justice Division

The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office is seeking an Attorney for the Cameron County District Attorney’s Juvenile Justice Division (CCDA JJD).  This person would assist in the juvenile prosecutions undertaken by the CCDA JJD.   

The CCDA JJD handles all matters related to juvenile proceedings from detention hearing/intake to disposition. Some of these duties include working closely with juvenile probation department, intake, file petitions, file motions, answer motions, litigate contested motions, dispositions, certifications, and trials, answer juvenile questions for law enforcement agencies, and make community/ partner presentations. Organization skills are important and a successful application must be detailed orientated.

The CCDA JJD is housed with Juvenile Probation at the Darrel B Hester Juvenile Detention Center along with Juvenile Probation and the Juvenile Public Defender Office.  A vast majority of the respondents are represented by the Juvenile Public Defender Office.
