The Chambers County District Attorney is seeking a newly licensed attorney, preferably a July 2022 bar examinee, for a Felony Prosecutor position which will be available January 1, 2023.
Illustrative duties include carrying a felony caseload and handling all aspects of felony prosecution from initial screening through trial. Prospective applicants should be interested in learning to prosecute sexual assault cases and will be trained by experienced sexual assault prosecutors with the goal of being able to able to handle an active criminal docket with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited law school, currently licensed to practice law and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. Priority will be given to applicants with Criminal Internship experience in a County or District Attorney’s Office or another prosecution office. Applicant must be a team player who can work well in a small office and be willing to learn. Must be able to work well with law enforcement. Must be familiar with the criminal justice system and have the ability to work within all components. Must have a demonstrated history of community involvement.
Chambers County is one of the fastest growing areas in the State of Texas. Located approximately 45 minutes east of Houston.
Annual Salary: Up to $80,000.
