The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office is seeking an Attorney for the Cameron County District Attorney’s Juvenile Justice Division (CCDA JJD). This person would assist in the juvenile prosecutions undertaken by the CCDA JJD. An ideal candidate would have 0 to 3 years’ experience.
The CCDA JJD handles all matters related to juvenile proceedings from detention hearing/intake to disposition. Organization skills are important and a successful application must be detailed orientated. Due to the proximity to the border, many cases relate to large amounts of narcotics, smuggling of persons, and human trafficking.
The CCDA JJD is housed with Juvenile Probation at the Darrel B Hester Juvenile Detention Center along with Juvenile Probation and the Juvenile Public Defender Office. A vast majority of the respondents are represented by the Juvenile Public Defender Office.
Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and completed Cameron County Employment Application to First Assistant DA Edward A. Sandoval, via email to [email protected].
