|The purpose of the position is to provide clerical and legal support to the District Attorney and staff. Responsible for answering phones, data entry, preparation of some legal documents/correspondence, filing and all other clerical duties which may be required by supervisor, investigators or prosecutors. Communicate and interact with general public.|
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Perform administrative tasks to include processing and distributing mail and faxes on a daily basis; data entry, making copies, scanning documents.
Communicate and interact with general public, defense attorneys, victims, law enforcement and various County personnel.
Maintain office files; filing documents; reports, records, correspondence and retrieve files as requested.
Close files, file closed files, and archiving closed files.
Provide back-up support for other staff members preparing legal documents.
Copy media, distribute media discovery.
Screen calls, take messages, and handle or forward calls as appropriate
Enter data in Odyssey database as needed.
Complete special projects and provide other clerical support as requested.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of legal terminology and Odyssey database preferred.
Must be able to use multi-line telephone, use a computer and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Proficiency in typing (40+wpm). Ability to use copier and scanner.
Ability to work in high stress environment and perform several tasks at once with ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to work after/before regular business hours and/or overtime as requested.
Salary: $28,000-$38,000 annually depending on experience.
