Newly appointed Angelina County District Attorney Janet Cassels has an immediate opening for a felony Violence Against Woman prosecutor. This grant funded position with a salary range of $75000 to $80000 will provide the selected prosecutor with the opportunity to work with victims, local law enforcement and victim service agencies to help combat crimes against women in our community. This prosecutor will be responsible for the prosecution of the selected cases from intake through disposition and will also assist with reviewing and evaluating files currently pending in the district courts in the county. The Angelina County District Attorney’s Office is a fast-paced office that serves two active district courts with approximately 48 trial settings each year. The selected prosecutor will be expected to evaluate cases, contact victims, work with law enforcement agencies, negotiate pleas, and try appropriate cases to jury verdicts.
Applicants must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. The position includes paid health insurance, retirement benefits through TDCRS, paid MCLE costs and bar dues.
