ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY / BORDER PROSECUTOR
Come join us in lovely West Texas! The 112th Judicial District serves five counties along and just North of Interstate 10. (Crockett, Pecos, Reagan, Sutton and Upton). We have an opening for a Border Prosecution Unit Assistant District Attorney. This position is partially funded by the Border Prosecution Unit Grant and partially funded by the counties. Mrs. English is seeking a motivated prosecutor to join our team.
The successful candidate will be involved and receive experience in all aspects of felony prosecution, including, but not limited to: case intake, preparation and presentation of cases to grand juries in five counties, pre-trials, jury trials, bench trials, and appeals. Travel within the District will be required. This employee will be required to live in one of the five counties within the 112th Judicial District.
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited law school and currently licensed to practice law in Texas. Three to five years prosecutorial experience preferred, but those with less experience will be considered. Must pass background check.
Salary and full benefits package: Starting salary for 3-5 years’ experience: $75K but negotiable depending on level of experience; Starting salary for under 3 years’ experience will be negotiated with candidate, depending on experience.
