Assistant District Attorney (Misdemeanor)
Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office
The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, due to recent promotions, is seeking several lawyers with at least one year job related experience, to join our Misdemeanor Division. You must currently be licensed to practice law in Texas, and be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. Experience as a prosecutor, previous trial advocacy, or experience from employment or internships/clerkships are beneficial. Trial work and being responsible for approximately one-half of a County Court-at-Law docket are the primary duties of these positions. You will be expected to try between seven and fourteen contested cases per year while managing a large caseload. The work environment and co-workers are pleasant, the office is well funded, and the support staff is quite skilled.
Fort Bend County is the most diverse county in the United States and consistently ranks as one of the fastest growing. Only twenty-five minutes away from downtown Houston, the office has that small-town feel while tackling the challenges of a bustling suburban metropolis.
We offer a fine benefit package, including payment for annual State Bar dues and CLE, with a salary starting at $2,507.20 biweekly, or more, dependent upon experience. The positions are open until filled.
